Naked – POEM

I am naked

To call out the voice of shame

Laugh in its face

Beat it at its own game

I am naked

To bare my very soul

What’s inside this flesh

Is what makes me whole

I shed my clothes

And fear screams of treason

But when I really listen

It’s clear that love is the only reason

I sit proudly

And let the wind touch me

Melt me into all that is and will be

Allowing this body to be free

I am naked

But not as an act of lust

I’ve shaken off the layers

In a personal sign of trust

I am bare

Like I once arrived into light

I push away unreal expectations

This is how I choose to fight

I am raw

As I connect with all that is

Get to know these eyes that see

This soul that moves and lips that kiss

I am nature

            And all around is me

            I am naked

            Because I choose to be

Ocean Dreams – POEM

Like a rock out of its place

The waves of life

Tossed her back and forth

Hitting obstacles, cracking open

And then moving on

Until one day she landed here

Embraced by the mountain

So stable and predictable

The waves still came

But in the crevice she found

Comfort in rolling around

It felt safe to stay there

As the waves washed over her

Again and again

The mountain and her got

Shaped into something new

A collective shape of comfort.

She rolled deeper as her edges and cracks

Smoothed over and the crevice

It grew deeper and deeper

But where she first found comfort

Turned into darkness

As she rolled into him

Herself eroded away

Into an unfamiliar shape

The crevice got so deep that she

Could no longer see the light over the edges

The cracks that should have defined her

Was scrubbed away

And the perfectly smooth and polished shape

Was one she she couldn’t recognise

She ached for skipping across the water

To once again be a part of

The unpredictable roll of the ocean

She wanted to be tossed around and hit sharp edges

Crack open again and see what was inside

Learn about her very center

But time had rolled her out of water’s reach now

And so she waits

For the wanderer that will one day

Catch a glimpse of a smooth rock

Unable to resist

To pick it up and send it flying

On the ripples of waves

To the next unknown adventure.

Never Know – POEM

IMG_1305

 There was a genuine fear

Of the unknown

He pushed with one hand

And held tight with the other

Afraid to miss out

Too scared to give in

He wanted answers

That no one could give

He wanted promises

Where none could be made

She kissed the hand

That held on

Opened up his fingers

And slipped away

When he wasn’t looking

All that was left

Was her whispered words

Now you will never know

This is Where I Write – POEM

In the corner of a hidden smile

At the end of a falling tear

The beginning of a question mark

Underneath the clothes I wear

*

Half awake and always dreaming

Never lost, but still unfound

In between colours, black and white

Wings spread wide and roots in the ground

*

For all to see, for none to know

Visible in the dark, hidden by light

Everywhere and nowhere all at once

Here is where I roam, this is where I write

Song of the Enormous Heart – POEM

Inside a home of glass she stood

And tried as hard as she possibly could

To fill it up with color and song

Although every morning most was gone

Slipped through cracks barely able to see

Open wounds of what could not be

Desperately she tried to mend

With every song her soul could send

A cry for help to anyone who’d hear

As her fingers felt the growing cracks in fear

Whispers started slipping through

Speaking silently, but speaking true

Truth she almost couldn’t bear

But painfully cradled with care

Kept them safe as the cracks got longer

And her song grew ever stronger

She created every color her love could make

Exhausted to the point she’d almost break

But one day her home shattered to the ground

And her soul aimlessly floated around

All her creations wildly spread

And loudly whispers found her weary head

All her colors turned into her gown

And the pieces of glass was her crown

Her enormous heart beating strong

The melody of her most special song

One that no matter how broken or scarred

Refused to see the world as hard

She loved with all her heart could take

Knowing her sanity was at stake

Until one day her heart devoured her whole

And all was left was a glimmer of soul

And in the dark was just a crack of light

A glimmer of memory, of her internal fight

And on the wind they could hear her voice

Singing of how she had no choice

Of how she loved with all she could

And wouldn’t change any of it, even if she could.

Dinner at Night – POEM

Glasses with regrets

And plates with dreams

They enter in shadows

Darkness and silent screams

*

I ask them to sit

To enjoy every spoon

In this room lightened

By the hungry moon

*

They tell me their stories

As I listen and try

To understand their meaning

Without starting to cry

*

They leave me at sunrise

In an indefinable mood

I had dinner with my demons

And they ate all the food

Writer’s Block – POEM

Blank papers and a pen almost dried out

I have so much to write about

But as I put that pen to paper

It’s still as blank an hour later

There’s so much going on, changes I’d like to share

But my searches turn up empty, the right words aren’t there

Maybe those words aren’t ready to be

To come to life as the change that’s changing me

Or maybe it’s me that’s not ready yet

Might be in the need of a hard reset

So I kissed my lost words and sent them away

On winds of dreams to return another day

A few decided to stay behind

Probably so I won’t lose my mind

They wrap themselves around me and together we sit tight

Waiting for the others to return when the timing is right

Let it Touch You – POEM

By the caress of passing minutes

The fingers of lost dreams

Lips of promises

Let it touch you

And see what happens

*

By the shiver of maybes and ifs

The embrace of your past

Breath of creativity

Let it touch you

And listen closely

*

By the warmth of the future

The whisper of hope

Dance of life

Let it touch you

And allow yourself to touch
