Underneath You – POEM

Looking back on the time we spent together

I remember who you were to me

What you meant to me

The feelings you sparked in me

The touches I felt from you

But who was I underneath you

Other than a place of comfort

A sense of relief from the loneliness

And sparks of desire

Sometimes I still wonder

If I was ever more

Than meat and bones

Served on a convenient

Plate of bedding
