Writebrain Day 5 – The Song of the Ocean

The Song of the Ocean

The ship sails into the sunset and from a distance it looks like the red sun devours the ship. Surrounded by the colored light stands a little girl singing a lullaby to the salty wind. Everyone else are downstairs eating, but the strawberry blonde tiny beauty had a promise she could not break.

As the wind picked up, her voice grew even louder. Tone after tone she poured out beautiful words until the darkness came over her and the sails. Silence fell over the ocean and she waited without moving a single muscle. She watched the dark waves for what seemed like an eternity.

The girl gave up and decided to go to bed, but as she turned away the voice of the ocean came singing over the waves.

The girl sang back to it and in the most beautiful duet in oceans memory new drops of salt water melted into the sea.

I’ve done some minor adjustments from the original text and as you can see I started it with The ship sails instead of The ship’s sail, but that’s not really important as long as one writes 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this little piece and I look forward to sharing more of the Writebrain exercises with you guys!

Have fun writing!
